SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ – The Agri Aral Tekno Mobil Program, Department of Information Technology (College of Engineering), and Department of Communication and Development Studies (College of Arts and Social Studies) of Central Luzon State University recently agreed to collaborate for the better delivery of extension services and produce researches for community and development programs.
In two separate meetings held on June 8, 2022 at R&E Function Hall B, Dr. Marife De Torres, Chairman Department of Communication and Development Studies and Dr. Khavee Augustus Botangen, Chairman, Department of Information Technology, discussed to Dr. Cynthia C. Divina, AgriATM program leader, the functions and services their respective departments and what they can contribute to the program.
Divina said the event aims to introduce and seek support from different stakeholders for the program’s ongoing “Lakbay-Aral” in the region.
The Department of Information Technology agreed to provide technical assistance in terms of troubleshooting the program’s Learning Management System (LMS), which will help improve the internet connectivity by providing faster internet routers on site. On the other hand, the Department of Communication and Development Studies pledged to participate and be in the program’s research and development area coverage.
“Actually, thankful kami dahil sa invite n’yo sa amin. We could participate and involve ourselves dito sa [program], kasi actually, ito rin ang kailangan ng [I.T.] department, of course for the faculty members – sa aming mga faculty members, na ma-expose sa mga ganitong klase ng activities. Probably in the future, we can have our own. If we have experienced, then we can create our own, and be involved later and produce similar projects like this. Kailangan lang kasi natin ng exposure talaga, involvement, and experience…” shared Dr. Botangen.
For the IT team, they came up with three (3) researches that can be explored through the AgriATM program namely: evaluation of the LMS, evaluation of the AgriATM van and its functionality in the field, and a mobile application development of the website.
On the other hand, the DevComm will contribute in the researches: evaluation of the e-materials and evaluation of the adopters of the start-up kits to be delivered and the project team themselves, among others mentioned in the meeting.
Also present during the meeting were: Dr. Chrysl Avegeil N. Vallejo, Associate Professor I (DevComm) and Dr. Jocelyn R. Dollente, Associate Professor IV (DevComm); Mr. Daryl F. Espino, Instructor II (I.T.), Mr. Cenon Conrado C. Divina, Instructor I (I.T.), and Gemlyn S. Inocencio, Instructor I (I.T.).
